The Moroccan Public Procurement Observatory (MPPO) organized, in partnership with the Walloon Public Procurement Observatory (Belgium), an exchange webinar dedicated to public procurement practices.
This event was held on November 19, 2025, with the participation of the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development.
It is part of the international cooperation drive led by the MPPO and aims to strengthen technical exchanges between counterpart institutions and to showcase the progress achieved by Morocco in the modernization, professionalization, and sustainability of public procurement.
During this meeting, the OMCP presented the initial structural initiatives undertaken since its establishment, particularly the upgrading of the national public procurement database to meet the Observatory's needs, as well as efforts regarding the progressive integration of environmental considerations into public procurement.
For their part, the partners from the Walloon Public Procurement Observatory and the representatives of the Belgian Federal Institute outlined their respective approaches, tools, and institutional frameworks, thereby fostering a rich sharing of experiences regarding steering mechanisms, transparency, and the continuous improvement of public procurement.
The discussions highlighted the convergence of challenges, the importance of data, and the need to strengthen the capacities of stakeholders in this field.
This event, facilitated by Moroccan and Belgian experts, served as a key moment for reflection on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable public procurement. It opens up new prospects for bilateral cooperation, enabling mutual learning and the continuous strengthening of public procurement practices.
